Steven Peet

About

Steven Peet has over 15 years' professional experience in child and family advocacy, complemented by more than a decade as a foster carer. This dual perspective — practitioner and caregiver — gives him a uniquely comprehensive understanding of the challenges children face within the care system.

His career in child and family social work includes extensive experience supporting children and young people with disabilities, complex needs and involvement in the criminal justice system. Now practising independently, Steven brings a child-centred approach, known for thorough assessments, grounded analysis and high-quality court reports that prioritise children's best interests and ensure their voices are heard.

Steven is a dedicated advocate for equitable access to services for marginalised families, communicating with children in ways that respect their age, developmental stage and circumstances. As part of the Gallore team he participates in ongoing training and supervision, and is an active researcher and publisher focusing on the impacts of internet and technology addiction on children and families.

Steven is available for independent assessments and court reports across Munster and Leinster, including Voice of the Child assessments and private family law reports. He is CORU registered and Garda vetted.
